Once I created a proper keystroke file, I saved it to the BMS config directory and loaded it in the game. I use the keyfile templates in the Kolbe/Keystroke files directory. You copy and paste the lines of code the spreadsheet generates into a keyfile. Kolbe created some excellent Excel spreadsheets will generate the DirectX codes you need to assign your joystick and throttle buttons/axes to game functions. Then download all the files created by Kolbe: Link You should get the Keyfile Editor for Falcon BMS The BMS directory includes some PDFs on this, but here is what I used: In fact, once you create a proper keyfile setup, you have to make sure you don't accidentally make any changes in-game, because it will break your settings file. There are third-party utilities that do a much better job. As already mentioned, you really don't want to set up the controls in the game. OK, configuring the controls was a pain to figure at the beginning.
